China Event
October 26, 2017
1. China Reflection
I appreciate that this Global Studies event was not just bashing on China. Even more so I appreciate that the U.S. China relation was an imperative part of the talk. Today this relationship is the most consequential for the U.S. and its Asian allies. With China consistently flexing in the South China Sea (and their eventual goal of controlling the body of water), America must play hardball in the region. We must protect their allies, and promote the international trade, in and out of the pacific. This may be done with the U.S. bolstering their forces in the waters. However, this should not deter the economic friendship between the two nations. China is America’s biggest trader in goods, and economic partner. And although countering China in the South China Sea would certainly lead to distrust between the two nations, it should not upset the financial ties.
